German Club

Students are involved in activities pertaining to the German culture beyond the scope of the classroom.

Tentative Meeting
3rd Monday in each month
(see attached handout for fall 2009)

Activities
"Deutschklub" participates in school and community events.
"Deutschklub" participates in: Marietta Reads including building a scarecrow, homecoming including winning the 2008 float contest, and Cobb Christmas including donating the most cans!
Monthly meeting participating and celebrating German culture including holidays, festivals and historical events.
Some of the events in the past have been: "Wurst" cookout, Pretzel Making, Oktoberfest Celebration, Fasching/Karneval Celebration, Reception for Exchange Students and more!

DK is busy!

We are building a scarecrow for "Marietta Reads" on the Square, September 26th!  Please bring in donations for our scarecrow!

"Deutschklub" and Delta Epsilon Phi, National German Honor Society are reading Grimms Brothers' Fairytales at the Square on Saturday, September 26th for "Marietta Reads"!

We are building a "Hollywood" themed float for the 2009 Homecoming Parade, Friday, October, 2nd!  Float meetings have been changed and they are: September 17th, 21st (at the meeting), 23rd, 24th, 30th and "Putting It Together" on Thursday, October 1st!  If you are a "Deutschklub" member and want to walk in the parade, you have to attend a total of 3 meetings, with one being Oct. 1st!
